Strategic Planning for Database Systems

CIS515

Strategic planning is not design. Nor is it implementation. However, knowledge of both design, implementation, and operation of data-base systems are essential to the successful strategic plan. Strategic planning examines the intellectual processes necessary in order to consider rationally all the twists and nuances prerequisite to constructing reliable information systems in a business organization or government agency. The big picture is easy to understand, but the details are easier to see when someone who has been down the path before can guide you.

The prescribed text for the course is Rob and Coronel, Database Systems.
